Love those very subtle shadows Alan.

Alan - lovely sketch - I read your recent article in TA - what pens/brushes did you use for this? Some more info would be very educational. Thanks.

Lovely work Alan, can see why the place draws you in.

Thanks guys, much appreciated… Andrew, I’ve used a No.0 ProArte rigger brush with Indian ink, as well as a Pilot 0.3 nib. I’m currently testing out the range of eco-papers from Hahnemuhle for a two- part test report for The Artist, no publication date as yet!

Thank you, Alan- very useful.

A super sketch, Alan.

Lovely plain air sketch of a very interesting and beautiful place.

You always give character to your buildings Alan .

I hope you were wrapped up whilst out Al, it’s getting cold out to draw and paint, it is for me! Terrific sketch, I’m envious of your drawing abilities.

Quality drawing/painting/composition……. Alan.

Cracking sketch and those shadows could only have been done Plein air Alan. Lovely subject.

The shadows make it!

Another little beauty 😍

The shadows really are lovely, with a suggestion of reflected light.

One of half a dozen rapid sketches done this morning plein air at Ingestre Hall and stables. There's enough interesting architecture to keep any artist busy for a year at least!. Hahnemuhle Bamboo Mixed Media 265gsm paper, 6 x 9.8in.
