Bleak Midwinter - Work in Progress

Beautifully painted Alan , it certainly has the chill factor .

That sky looks full ( of snow). I’ll investigate those boards! I have some of another brand which I’ve yet to use.

Ooh lovely painting with a great brooding sky. I’m getting that I prefer my snow on canvas so this would do for me! I will check out the Panart boards, sound good.

A delightful painting as the dramatic bleak sky compliments the snow laden earth and earth furrows with ditch and bare trees certainly expresses a Winter scene! That hi t of cerulean blue in the dark riven cloud highlights well and lifts those cumulus clouds into a mist.

I love warm patches on both sides, at the top and on the bottom. They hold the composition together. Very subtle. But an ominous cloud!

I love a good atmospheric and moody winter scene, and this is all that! Fabulous sky, filled with more weather to come, no doubt…..great brush work Al.

Certainly caught the ‘chill factor’ here Alan, nice bold brushwork. Must be due another go at an oil myself.
