Windsor Castle

I've loved all your castle paintings so far Alan but I think this one is at the top of the list! It's sharp, crisp and strong against the skyline. A limited palette compared to your previous castles but still has great impact. Superb!

Great, strong image Alan, super detail on the castle. I probably prefer your"free/impressionistic" style in several of your recent postings, though appreciate the more complex work and drawing here to portray the strength and presence of the castle

Thank you Fiona and Pat, if you are referring to the Corfe Castle style Pat, I understand what you are saying, straight in with a brush, no prep work etc. I like that style also. However, I am always experimenting with different media and ideas so as not to become stale and bored with painting, that's where my enthusiasm and adrenalin kick in, constantly searching for different ideas.

Yes Alan I love the way the different styles convey different aspects yet they all marry. Excellent exciting journey

Wonderful work Alan especially all the colours and textures in the castle walls, and it really stands out against the lighter sky.

Personally I prefer this more traditional approach but still with the lively sky. The castle has a very solid feel to it, as it should.
