A magnificent hall and you have done it justice with this super watercolour.

Smashing work and great commission to get Alan.

Superbly drawn and atmospheric darks. Lovely

Lovely watercolour Alan - very atmospheric with that dark shadow and the sky.

Lovely as always Alan.

Again a great sky, so difficult with watercolour. If the lion had not been there already, I would had added one to accentuate the size of the Hall and the perspective.

Watercolour 15'' x 22'' Arches 300lb. A more detailed drawing than my normal style, but this was a commission from the Late Lord Harrowby so a fair bit of accuracy was required. I made many colour sketches at the scene noting the building colour particularly, and worked in the studio spending a great deal of time drawing out the building in pencil referencing the photographs that I took on the day. The hall is a Grade11 listed building standing in 400 acres, the ancestral seat of the Earls of Harrowby.
