Great painterly fresh image.Caught something of the landscape

Lovely colours and tones - lyrical feel to the painting, Alan

Simply beautiful. Greath depth and colours and composition. I REALLY like this.

Thank you Karin (and the other two) I'm pleased that somebody likes this style, it's a bit semi-abstract but I have to alternate my style to keep my enthusiasm going. I realise it's not for everyone! Alan

Like this a lot Alan. The colours are super and the whole thing is so well balanced. Love the looseness and the style. Great work .

I'm not one for abstract work normally, but I love this Alan. Great idea to change your style occasionally - I must have a go at something like this.

Thanks Frank, yes it's very enjoyable and if I stick to one style I feel my work lacks that spark. I find the need to paint fairly large canvases to achieve the results that I'm striving for. I always liked this quote and think of it often '' The artist gazes upon reality and creates his own impression. The viewer gazes upon the impression and creates his own reality''.

Stunning - Love it!

Thank you Haidee, it's good to know that there is some interest in this style of work. It's tough going though, I put Lleyn Peninsular on yesterday and its had little interest, time yet of course. Not to be deterred I am carrying on with the series.

Oh Alan, I'm so sorry I must have missed this one..........how remiss of me not have commented on this superb piece...before seeing your article in the 'artists' magazine. It's an education in the understanding of that difficult concept of abstract/semi abstract work. Congratulations!

This is the perfect partner to Llanbedrog 2. It demonstrates a confidence with the brush as I would never be brave enough to paint with vertical strokes on a horizon. Loving your style, vibrant and modern. Do you exhibit anywhere so that I can see them up close?

Oil on stretched canvas 28’’ x 36’’. A more impressionistic approach in this Welsh landscape, which I painted this morning from various references. I am going to do a series of 20 altogether which I hope will convey the wonderful and ever changing landscape of Wales throughout the seasons.
