A gem of a watercolour Alan

Beautiful watercolour Michael.

Sorry Alan.

I absolutely love this Alan, although I was rather surprised when I saw your name. You should do more. Really beautiful.

Admire your treatment of the distant trees and conservative palette, which creates a sense of peace Alan.

A beautiful watercolour - love the palette you have used.

Gorgeous- reminds me of a seago or Wesson painting

The one thing I spot first is contrasts Alan, this has great contrasts, also colours, love this late Autumn scene. Distant trees beautiful faint shade.

Lovely watercolour painting 🖼

Super work. Very autumnal, a great sense of distance.

Your skill with watercolour is still there Alan, lovely composition, nice colour palette and cracking result.

This is lovely Alan, so good in so many ways

Beautiful watercolour Alan, lovely washes with that bit of granulation at the top. Yes, it’s good to have a change.

Beautifully painted. Lovely composition and autumn colours.

I love the beautiful light you have created and the wonderful dry brush work. It actually makes me look forward to days like this!

Beautiful result from, and probably because of, your choice of a limited palette.

Really like your trees Alan. Very well observed with the birds in the tops.

Simply stunning Alan! A beautiful example of layering of washes and graduated sky wash. It may be a while since you did a watercolour but you haven’t lost your touch.

You should do more Alan, expertly painted.

Always loved your watercolours Alan, so thanks for showing us another beauty.

Beautifully painted Alan, your paint so well in the different mediums . Your a master of the paint brush no matter what’s on the end . It has a lovely classical look to it , probably due in part to the pallet you chose.

Very subtle - love it!

Lovely watercolour painting, and very effective Alan.

Not sure that I’ve seen any watercolour from you previously Alan. This is very impressive. The buildings and trees are recognisably your style and it’s interesting to see both similarities and differences.

Love that gradated sky, the beautiful colours and the loose brush strokes in the foreground.

Different from your oils, but just as scintillating, Alan. I love the beautiful layers and confident dry-brushwork that creates depth and perspective.

Lovely work Alan, reminds me of work of Rolland Hilder, who I used to love when I first started to paint in watercolour.

A lovely watercolour Alan. The treatment of the trees is 'Hilderesque'. It's all there; the tones are spot on and the recession is just right. I also like the bands of shadow across the composition.

It’s nice to see you use watercolours Alan, this reminds me of Rowland Hildler (don’t know if I spelt that right) but that no bad thing! I love the watery effect and looseness and there is no fiddling which sometimes I do, but I only get about 2 hours in the evening to think of something to paint and then paint it? As what’s been said you haven’t lost your touch but then this is the first one I have seen but an extremely excellent painting👍

Another special one Alan. A look of Roland Hilder maybe ?

Very Hilderesque, Alan, absolutely brilliant!

Great colours in this lovely watercolour.

I don’t paint too many watercolours these days, but It’s good to have a change! I’ve worked on a small series of mainly rural scenes, some have been more successful than others. Watercolour with some body colour on Arches 400lb Cold Pressed (NOT) 11 x15in
