Oh Julia, what a beautiful, sensitive portrait to add to all your others. lovely expression in the eyes...Poor creatures, it's very cruel what happens to them once their racing days are over...makes you shudder to think!

Another absolute gem, as Ruth said .. Very appealing - and I'm not a big dog fan, but this fellow looks fab

This is truly so well done the nose and eyes are spot on!! my friend in Devon has four rescue dogs two whippits one greyhound and a mutt.

Thank you all so much for your kind comments. This started as a pencil drawing but I just couldn't resist bringing in the watercolours. Oscar is actually a small lurcher who has some separation anxiety issues which we are working on! I'm sure he'll find the right home in the end.

Absolutely. those sad eyes. A lovely watercolour.

I presume you work in a rescue kennel with all these sad dogs that you paint soooo well. How do you manage to resist taking them home when they look at you with eyes like this? A wonderful watercolour.

So beautiful, a lovely dog. My daughter walks dogs every sat and sun at our local rescue centre. She loves them.

After a heavy night's Xmas shopping online, I came to have a quick look at POL gallery and there I find this fantastic painting. Your paint handling gets better and better all the time - whatever you are putting in your tea I want some of too!! I seem to be going backwards at the moment so I must take some inspiration from how wonderfully you are working and get my act together. Your animal portrait gallery deserves to be shown - find somewhere to exhibit them as I think you will find that people will love them. Really well done!

Hi Julia, you have managed to control the flow of water beautifully and this has kept your colours lovely and fresh. You can see the character and a cheeky one at that!
