Orange flower

I think the result is lovely. All those petals would drive me to distraction but you have painted them beautifully.

A golden chrysanthemum? One that reminds me of my grandfather's collection from years ago. Very evocative very sympathetically executed. I like what I see.

Superb contrasts between the violet-blue and orange. I get my therapy in moments of exasperation by painting a tree; with you it's flowers, but it's the same process. Pity we have the exasperation, but we're lucky to be able to respond to it.....

Julia..I missed this on your posting, but saw it in progress...It has blossomed beautifully. I like the way you have achieved the darks which give depth to the heart of the flower. Your colours are so vivid and alive.

Can't think why I haven't commented on this! Having seen the painting in the flesh I can tell everyone that it looks even better than on the gallery. The colours in the centre and so subtle and clever. Blue background is great - such a good complimentary colour to the orange.
