Paul Hopkinson

Biography

I am a full time professional artist and teach online from my Watercolour Wildlife School https://devonartist.co.uk/ I do love teaching by recording my videos of which I chat all the way through and my members there seem to like the way I teach. Here is a little about how I started within the art world. 🧑‍🎨 I started drawing when I was knee-high to a grasshopper but didn’t pick up my first brush until the age of twelve. This was when I first started to paint in oils with my Uncle, Peter Hopkinson who is a fantastic artist. We ventured into the Derbyshire countryside with canvases and easels, and that is where it all began! For many years I have undertaken watercolour, oil, acrylic and graphite commissions and have painted portraits, landscapes and animals. 🐕‍🦺🐾 I now paint as a full time artist and have over 40 years of experience. I love every minute of my work, though the time always seem to go too quickly when I paint! I live in North Devon and spend many weekends out and about in the local countryside. 🥾 My focus these days is on the teaching of my style and techniques and I do this through written PDFs, YouTube, Vimeo and my website above https://devonartist.co.uk/ is a subscription based platform with new content and tutorials being added all the time. I create and edit videos of my painting projects, these are building into a substantial back catalogue of currently over 70 video lessons in watercolour, for painting wildlife in detail and which you get complete access to as a member. I absolutely love teaching others and love even more to see the progress people make as they work on the projects. My paint brushes are still very rarely dry, I am still painting but I also spend a lot of time video editing! Why not come and join me on my website above and let me teach you my method of painting! Don’t forget…..keep them brushes wet! Regards, Paul 🎨 https://www.patreon.com/TheDevonArtist
