Brilliant work, Julia. You already know how wonderful I think this painting is, but wanted to say it here on POL as well.

Oh I do like this one far better than the other; the expressions are so much gentler and the coat much more typical. I feel the coat in the other one, especially of the black dog, comes over as too harsh and windswept. These are so much softer. The sad gentle expression of the black dog is wonderful and you have done so well wit the black coat- not the easiest to do. The soft mouth and lips of the other dog are superb.
