Oh Julia this is so pretty. The composition is fine, your control of the background washes is very good. I find roses incredibly difficult to draw let alone paint. I woudl probably have left out the blurred rose top right but that full blown centre rose is strong enough to take it.

Julia, this is wonderful. When I look at how far you have come since those first days with Sheila I am amazed at your work. This is the sort of work we used to aspire to and here are you doing it so beautifully. This suits your style and eye for the delicate shapes and colours. Bravo!

Just love roses but have still to attempt them in watercolour, think I would make it just 3 roses as the centre bloom is so beautiful it only needs a little support from the other 2 maybe ?

Julia, this is fantastic! Beautiful colours, lovely background...agree about the faded out rose, but otherwise superb. Thea is so right, you are coming on in leaps and bounds. Can I come over for a lesson? Over coffee tomorrow, perhaps!
