Oh Julia this is so pretty. The composition is fine, your control of the background washes is very good. I find roses incredibly difficult to draw let alone paint. I woudl probably have left out the blurred rose top right but that full blown centre rose is strong enough to take it.

Thank you so much Diana. I think you are probably right about the rose at the top - will give it some thought!

Julia, this is wonderful. When I look at how far you have come since those first days with Sheila I am amazed at your work. This is the sort of work we used to aspire to and here are you doing it so beautifully. This suits your style and eye for the delicate shapes and colours. Bravo!

Oh thank you Thea. I hope you realise how much you have helped and inspired me!!?

Just love roses but have still to attempt them in watercolour, think I would make it just 3 roses as the centre bloom is so beautiful it only needs a little support from the other 2 maybe ?

Julia, this is fantastic! Beautiful colours, lovely background...agree about the faded out rose, but otherwise superb. Thea is so right, you are coming on in leaps and bounds. Can I come over for a lesson? Over coffee tomorrow, perhaps!

The roses are great and the colours. I like the vignette composition.

Hang on Studio Wall

Watercolour on Langton 200 lb NOT. Have really struggled with this one and suspect the composition is not too great?
