Another fine painting - I like the way things are casually placed as in real life!

I’m a bit nervous for the plate on the table - one tug on the cloth and it is on the floor. But lovely colours and composition.

Thanks Anne and Linda. You know Linda, I might just be able to do that trick - pull the cloth and the things stay on the table….

Excellent painting Marjorie.

Anothe gem of a still life Marjo.

I have a title for this piece Marjorie. How about “You standing on my foot”. The chair and tray are well constructed.

It’s beautifully done Marjorie.

Tricky subject… cleverly constructed Marjorie, definitely far removed from anything I’d tackle!

So well constructed Marjorie, lovely painting.

I always admire your colour palette and ability to paint so many textures

Great atmosphere in this one, Marjorie

I do admire the way you set yourself challenges Marjorie and develop the result, rather than punish yourself. As soon as I saw the long view of the tablecloth, it reminded me of the first painting of Ewan’s as you walked through the door of his exhibition in Kirkcudbright……impact!!

I liked the first one and I like this one.

Thank you all for all your lovely comments. I hesitated to post this - there are elements I was happy with but one thing I know is that it’s quite hard to make something work re angles and light if you’re making it up as you go along. It might even be asking to be painted over again, maybe landscape position.

I think this is so well painted Marjorie, very impressive!

That tablecloth does it for me!

Painted out most of the previous post and played about with ideas. Hasn’t really worked but I enjoyed it. Part invented, part from life.
