Thanks Stephen. Humans do seem fragile in a precambrian environment - but sadly all too often it is the environment that has become fragile. Hopefully there will be enough of us willing to speak out against the devastation of wilderness in so many beautiful places.

Canoeists of all stripes, but especially wilderness canoeists, carry somewhere in their memory banks that extraordinary early morning paddle. The sun is reflecting the mist as it rises wraith-like and magical above the water surface, the swish of the paddle as it moves through the water with perhaps, in the distance, the morning call of a loon. It is a rich and textured memory etched in the image gallery of one’s mind forever. I’ve tried to capture a little of this uncommon essence in Morning Mist.
