It’s a superb piece Martin , your take on it not correcting mistakes etc as it’s down to artistic interpretation. You have done a great drawing of what I think is a difficult subject and capturing the age and weathers look of the stone beautifully.

Has a sense of grandeur Martin, and the colour works for this piece.

Such a challenging painting, which works beautifully Martin. Love the majestic towering of the building and the clever foreground.

This is really well done Martin.

That is very well done, Martin!

Oh yes! Right up my street and a fabulous representation Martin. I’d love to have a go at this one myself…

I like the cropped composition, and everything about it. Super work Martin.

It’s beautifully done Martin, love the restricted colour and also how you’ve left in that glimpse of bare paper bottom left.

Beautifully painted.

Fab-U-Lous! Superb and I love the look of that wet pavement too

Fantastic Martin.

Magnificent Martin! Great job and I love the choice of colours……I agree with Marjorie ref the ‘unfinished’ look at the bottom.

A very fine piece of work Martin. A beautiful drawing and super washes.

A fantastic drawing and the addition of colour adds to it.

Very impressive Martin.

Oh Martin, I’ve just laughed out loud at the wording of my comment - an unintended image, there should be a comma after “paper”!

Really good of you all to comment so positively. Much appreciated. I’ll be sure to include further bare paper bottoms in other paintings Marjorie. Haha

Incredible detail but done in such a way as to make it look effortless. Bravo.

This is superb Martin, love the eye level.

Thanks Carole. Very kind

Started as a plein air sketch which I developed and played with in studio. Had great fun adding colour and trying to correct errors, some of which were impossible to do, so it’s something of a hybrid. Carbon ink and watercolour on Canson not wc paper A3
