How sad but a very good depiction ... long may it live

Yes, you've made it unforgettable now, it's well worth it!

Love the drawing, the story with it not so cheerful. We had an old oak in our previous house, it dropped a couple of its branches. Quite alarming, but apparently it's something they do. Oak trees are special.

Excellent work Martin , I worked a voluntary woodlands Ranger for the National Trust and often came across such mindless damage. Unfortunately not alway younger people either , one adult putting his disposable BBQ on the brand new table and wonder why I poured a bucked of water over it.

It's a great drawing Martin

Really well painted Martin.

Thanks Heather PogArt Lewis Dixie Russell Stephen. Good of you to add to the dialogue. Oaks are special and humans sometimes specially stupid

A favourite subject of mine, super job Martin!

Love the character of old oak trees - a great sketch.

Thanks Alan and Jenny. They are great subjects of character aren’t they

Thanks very much Spencer

This poor tree has a hollow base and brainless numpties keep lighting fires under it. It’s amazingly resilient so far as it continues producing leaves but I can see it may not last much longer as it sits near a playground and the Council are likely to fell it before it falls. I thought I’d record it before then. Pen and ink sketch En plein air and watercolour added in studio. On A5 Canson 1557 pad
