Love the drawing, the story with it not so cheerful. We had an old oak in our previous house, it dropped a couple of its branches. Quite alarming, but apparently it's something they do. Oak trees are special.

Excellent work Martin , I worked a voluntary woodlands Ranger for the National Trust and often came across such mindless damage. Unfortunately not alway younger people either , one adult putting his disposable BBQ on the brand new table and wonder why I poured a bucked of water over it.

This poor tree has a hollow base and brainless numpties keep lighting fires under it. It’s amazingly resilient so far as it continues producing leaves but I can see it may not last much longer as it sits near a playground and the Council are likely to fell it before it falls. I thought I’d record it before then. Pen and ink sketch En plein air and watercolour added in studio. On A5 Canson 1557 pad
