Oh I love this Thea. I can see how you thought it would make a lovely painting and it certainly has. An ideal subject for the continuous line. I am looking forward to sitting down with my pen later but have some boring jobs I need to get out of the way first.

Magnificent Thea!! You have captured the dog spot on and have made the drawing to look so simple. The wonderful use of watercolour adds buckets of charm too. Well done!!

Hi Thea . This is very nice , freely and confidently drawn . Yes Thea i think you have come on so much , i love this one . Well done to you .

Thank you Christine, Satu and Dennis for leaving such nice comments. I am having such a good time with these. As soon as I can grab a moment (difficult at the moment) I am thinking about the next one.

Brilliant! Every one of these is a surprise, what a result!! Now you've discovered that you can draw dogs.

Just read your comment. It's that enthusiasm which is making this one line method so much fun for me.

Thank you very much, Louise, yes - I can now draw dogs (or I have managed one so far, lol!) However, I feel a lot less frightened of attempting animals now, which has got to be good. And it is the enthusiasm that we all feel about doing these drawings that shines through I think. All my work before this has involved a lot of angst and fretting and I am sure it showed, whereas these drawings are carefree and joyful. A lesson learned I think!

Cool pooch Thea!

Super-duper!

Thank you very much Fiona, Debs and Glennis for your kind comments. The dog really is a cool dude, isn't he!

He looks great Thea and so cool!

Wow Thea, this dog is wonderful and beautifully drawn. Fantastic subject. I would love this one on my wall, I 'd like to look at this every day. I have been really enjoying the One Liners, they have such vitality. Must give it a go myself! Congratulations on being posted on Facebook, and thank you for your lovely comments on my gallery.

I can't draw dogs - have tried in the past and failed. However, I loved this photo that I took in a French market of a travelling musician's dog, lying there looking super cool in his shades, so wondered if doing it as a semi-blind contour drawing would work better for me. And it did! I could never have drawn this dog if I had done it in my normal way, but somehow using a continuous flowing line and with only a few quick glances at my paper, this dog emerged.

I am a watercolourist first and foremost as I love the qualities of the medium, its riskiness and unpredictability. I started painting about 8 years ago and it has now become an integral part of my life. Hopefully, I will continue to paint into my dotage as I am given to understand that you can…
