A perfect reminder of a beautiful moment, and so lovingly rendered.

Thank you, Fiona, for your very kind comment. It is only a quick sketch really, but you are right - a nice reminder of a happy day.

An absolute charmer Thea

Another lovely painting to add to you family album Thea!

This is charming Thea and a real 'big brother' moment, in the nicest possible way!

A lovely painting Thea, they grow up so quickly and to be able to capture these moments in a painting is special too.

Ah, now here's a happy painting of two little ones enjoying their holiday. As usual, I admire your use of colour, the warm tones and the way that you leave plenty of white paper.

Stunning painting Thea, great composition, love it!!

Great little painting Thea, your figures are lovely.

Thank you so much, Michael, Christine, Debs, Glennis, Louise, Petra and Kirstie for such encouraging comments. I do love painting the grandchildren, but I sometimes wonder how thrilled they will be with my little portraits when I dig them out to show their girlfriends/boyfriend in later life!

Thank you so much, Carole, your your lovely comment - so much appreciated.

Absolutely delightful Thea! The little people look so sweet and you have captured them so beautifully. What a lovely gift for them later and I'm sure they will love them. I would!

They are all right, Thea: this is so adorable. You certainly made a success of that moment. Never to be forgotten. Stunning!

Thank you very much Satu and Mia for your nice comments. We did have a lovely holiday on the Cote d'Azur and I have a few photos lines up demanding to be painted - this was my first go at one.

A gorgeous painting of an endearing moment, Thea! You've captured Noah's gentle touch and Tabitha's uncertainty so very well. The hardest part of painting figures is capturing the spirit of the moment and you've succeeded in spades!

Thank you so much, Seok. If you think I have managed to convey Tabitha's uncertainty and Noah's brotherly reassurance, then I am really happy as that was my ultimate goal.

You really have caught the moment Thea, absolutely charmng.

You have caught the tenderness in this painting. Charming.

Thank you so very much Fred and Sarah for your very nice comments which I really value.

This works well.Caught the moment beautifully.

Thank you, Douglas. It was a special moment so I was pleased I could have a go at painting it.

On our recent holiday in France, Tabitha (aged 2) was a bit shaky about going in the sea and her big brother, Noah, took her by the hand and led her down to the shore and showed her how to splash her hands in the water - very sweet to watch. Luckily, I took a photo at just the right moment and really wanted to try and capture the moment in a painting. I found Noah's face difficult as I couldn't really see any facial features clearly so I had to go for a general impression - not sure if it works but it was the best I could manage. Watercolour on Langton 300lbs.

I am a watercolourist first and foremost as I love the qualities of the medium, its riskiness and unpredictability. I started painting about 8 years ago and it has now become an integral part of my life. Hopefully, I will continue to paint into my dotage as I am given to understand that you can…
