Convoluted .

Convoluted it may be, but a very good image.

It's a wonderful, winding shape Sylvia.

I really like looking at this Sylvia (what does that say about me?!)

Twisted Heather LOL 🌻. A lovely shape to look at and draw. Thank you for comments .. I appreciate them

Lovely Sylvia like the sketch book your painting is in. 🙂🎨

I do like this Sylvia. I have one, thought it was to be a smallish tree but I have to cut it back nearly every year!

So full of life, Sylvia. Your sketches always look joyful.

A lovely sketch, Sylvia - a fascinating image!

They do go berserk Carole mine is about ten feet high. Faye the sketch book is Seawhite of Brighton you can get hold of them directly or on Amazon. Plus a good price . Like Joyful,Marjorie, thank you . Thank you Anne .

Excellent painting Sylvia , I love hazel trees and the leaves ax you say are beautifully developed.

Love your twisty twigs Sylvia, they are a fabulous tree aren’t they. I love mine and use any prunings for adding to still life set ups. They make a great subject to draw and paint. The one I have is only a baby at seven foot and it’s the purple leaved/catkin one

Looks like it's trying to tie itself in knots...I can see the attraction in drawing it.

Thank you Russell , thanks Paul, not seen a purple one Fiona , I find it great in the winter time to put several branches in a big pot….artistically of course and add Christmas decorations in December. One for you Lewis , Welsh village show garden produce , all tied up in knots .

The convoluted hazel is a great shrub to draw, and you have drawn it in a beautiful and unique style, well done,. Inktense pencils are a wonderful drawing medium.

Lovely wriggly drawing.

Thank you Romila and Linda.

I love these trees. It’s a beautiful sketch, Sylvia.

Inktense pencils and pen in A5 sketch book . I have a wonderful Convoluted Hazel in the garden and the catkins are just budding. A few weeks down the line and they will be inches long and swinging in the breeze . The leaves in the summer time look as though they have been chewed , but before they appear it’s a wonderful shrub.
