What a lovely, meaningful piece of work.

Thank you very much, Julie. This is actually my 4th Holocaust themed piece, counting the original illustration for my friend's poem.

This is a work in progress. Painted on black mount board. It's based on a simple illustration that I did in 2004, for a poem written by a Jewish friend many years ago. I decided last year that I could improve on the original work, and create a stand-alone piece. The Hebrew is selected text from the Kaddish, the traditional Jewish prayer of mourning. The faces are not ghosts. They're the "lost ones" who had no family or descendants to say Kaddish. They're also the memories fading with the passing of Holocaust survivors. The pile of stones refer to the Jewish custom of placing a stone on the grave, whenever it is visited.
