Do you know, I thought this was a photo. No matter. This is a stunning composition with fantastic light and colour. It certainly would be challenge to paint!

It IS a photo! But I consider photography to be an art form, that is, when the photographer thinks like an artist. Light & colour was easy. It was a sunny afternoon and the sun was behind me, to the west. The black creosote & texture of the fence was a perfect background. I just had to work out the composition & make sure I was standing with the sun over my left shoulder, so that I didn't cast a shadow. Then I took several shots. I'd love to paint it, but I'm not sure I have the skill. If you'd like to try, please go ahead!

Digital photo (Fuji Finepix JX350 Compact). Had to give up photography many years ago, due to eyesight changes, so I couldn't see properly thru a viewfinder nor focus the camera properly. But somebody invented digital cameras with viewscreens! Earlier this year I upgraded from an old digital camera with really titchy screen & fiddly controls. My new one has enabled me to rediscover my old & much loved hobby.
