A good friend took a photograph of the Priory one evening last autumn, and gave me permission to use it for a painting. The sky was quite a dark stormy grey, and it looked like a thunderstorm was approaching. I thought that Violet grey and the Oranges of the Autumn trees would compliment each other. The water was quite still, allowing for nice reflections of the sky and the Priory tower.
