It's very effective, especially for such a small sketch. i have never tried gouache, but my daughter in law has a lot of success with it.

A very lively,"fresh" painting Bob. You can almost feel the breeze and taste the salty tang on the air. Gouache is evidently a medium which suits you.

This is a small gouache of a previous larger watercolour...more of a sketch really. I find that the opaque media, that I occasionally use for a change, is more challenging than my comfort zone of watercolour. But I do find a pleasure in the vibrant colours of gouache, and I seem to paint in a looser style with it....maybe because I'm not so worried about the finished outcome, as often they are just for fun. Anyway, it's good to be painting again after a layoff due to my wife's Parkinson's disease, good to be back!
