I am a bird watcher, and amateur photographer and love to watch them for hours. A favorite subject of mine in all forms. Bob, I find all the earth tones and design you chose here to be quite appealing. Great reflections, they really are the painting. I don't know anything about Khadi paper - is it soft? cold pressed? hand made? do you like the paper? perhaps the nature of the paper is not a happy companion with a masking fluid....

Like it a lot Bob. Like Nancy I am a birder too, but easing from it on account of eyes and binoculars. The gull is low key but that works.

On a late winter's afternoon at Poole Park, the evening sun lit up these Canada Geese with swan reflections and a Black Headed Gull paddling in the shallow water...too good to miss. Painted on Khadi paper with a limited palette of Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Warm Sepia, Raw Sienna, Ultramarine, Cobalt, Permanent Rose, and maybe a touch of Cadmium Red. I had a little trouble with masking fluid slightly tearing at the paper, corrected with judicious Permanent White Gouache.
