Originals always look better than their photographs. Hope the cows weren´t frightened of the little rat.

She looks unconcerned about ratty, well he is friendly! Yes she has attitude Robert and her child is very obedient. A beautiful surrounding countryside too.

I like it. It must be a very happy cow with all that long green grass and relatively natural surroundings.

Robert, I love this! Gentle pastoral colours...true feeling of serenity...Love the Duchess's hump on the poor cow's back (which looks familiar!) Ratty seems to have his eye on the calf, but hopefully it is too big even for him to have a go at....Did you keep your tongue in your cheek for long? Cheers. R

Tongue usually is in my cheek, Ruth - can't help it! Thanks for all comments.

Yes away from the butcher all being well lovely

Cow on a mission.... lovely.

Well I'm well impressed Robert, this is superb and not easy, your colour palette is so well thought out and has some nice marks. As for Ratty, he always makes me smile.

Oil on board, 10" by 8". Tried my best to get a good photograph, but the trouble is that whenever I crop something I get a bigger version that makes it look as though you're gazing at a magnification - so all my wobbly strokes and missed bits show up! Anyway, this was the best I could do, though maybe it would have helped if I'd put a border around it. Cows, anyway: Tennyson Down, Freshwater Bay, Isle of Wight.
