This is a beautiful drawing, Robert. Keep on looking through your archives. This gave me an idea to do the same.

Beautiful drawing Robert, memories of a much loved pet. I have painted all the animals we have had, so much better than photo's.

Been itching to do some sketching and I have a lab cross who loves this particular pose... Love the position of the front paws, beautifully captured.

I really like the soft lines to this drawing Robert, a lovely way to remember her.

Lovely Judy...she looks to be as round as my Squeak is. ( I did not name her, twas a grand child) A delightful way to remember the specials on our lives.

Yes, she was quite round! Don't worry about naming Squeak - my young brother named this one Judy, and over the course of time she answered just as readily to, variously, Pudlet, Pugsley, Poodleboos, and all sorts of other damn' fool names - she died around 30 years ago: odd, isn't it, but I still remember her as though she popped off yesterday.... Lovely old thing - I realized she was on her way out when she fainted climbing on to the pavement.... quite embarrassed she was, to have to be carried back home... Thanks to all for your comments.

Oh, and Glennis - yes: I have photographs of most of my dogs, and many of my rats ... pause for shrill screams ... but nothing beats a drawing or painting if you want to really capture the character.

Hi Robert Ros P here thanks for your great comment on my latest dog pastel, the dog wanting the ball throwing for it again, great to hear about your exploits with one of your past dogs, thanks again for taking a look and leaving a comment

This one is another from the archives, and dates to around 1975. Judy was of no particular breed - her mother was an Alsatian crossed with something else ... probably a Labrador; and Judy appeared as a consequence of a night-time visit from a VERY friendly Airedale - named Skippy.... I'm having a sharp attack of nostalgia.
