I'm having real trouble with photographing my pictures at the moment - the thumbnails look fine, but then when you click on them there's an enlargement which makes the painting harder to ''read'', and loses detail or rather makes it fuzzier.

I could blame the software, but I think it's probably me.... anyone got advice? Am I getting too close to the pictures when photographing them (well, how would you know? I mean, is that a likely explanation?)? I'm using a now rather elderly Olympus C-160, and have been using FastStone Image Viewer (but have not had trouble with either before..).

Anyway, this shows up better on my blog at www.wightpaint.blogspot.co.uk.

Beautiful tree Robert, love it :)

You're quite right Robert, the enlarged version sometimes becomes a bit out of focus here, especially with oil and acrylic paintings. Might be the shine of the paint. This tree of yours is just great with lovely details of the moss and twigs.

Certainly would look magnificent big Robert great work

Quite an achievement, Robert; the graphic marking is extremely effective. Powerful piece!

Another nice piece Robert well done mate .

This looks like a unique tree Robert, well captured.

A cracking painting Robert.

Lovely windswept feel to this piece, Robert.

8" by 10" Oil sketch of a local oddity. This tree has grown into three boughs of roughly equal thickness: it's a huge thing, this is a merely impudent approach to it; it deserves a big canvas, and might yet get one...
