I have inadvertently painted my rat out! I shall replace him, forthwith!

You will be happy to learn that I have re-painted my rat, but I won't take the liberty of posting another version. Place him, therefore, where you will! I have placed him in the lower left foreground.

Fabulous Robert! Love the glimpse of the sea through the grasses. Beautifully done

Beautifully painted Robert and your eyes meander through the landscape to that lovely blue sea.

What an amazing looking place, had to look it up as I'd never heard of it. Awesome in the correct sense of the word! I can just imagine the tangly undergrowth clinging to the cliff, and I do love the blue sea.

A master stroke that little opening that takes the eye to the sea just makes the whole picture brilliant

I like this very much, the sign looks suitably weathered, and I like that lovely blue sea.

Well Painted Robert.

Super painting Robert. I can feel the sea breeze and sniff the salt in the air!

Oil, 8" by 10" - I've left the wording on the sign deliberately sketchy, don't really want the words to be the centre of attention. Whale Chine changes all the time, suffering from ever-present erosion. Colours, for those interested: Flake White; Quinacridone violet; Cadmium red light; Cerulean Blue; Ultramarine; Burnt Sienna; Raw Sienna; Yellow Ochre; Chrome Yellow (Hue). And yes the sea was that blue, but whether I should have painted it that way is a matter of opinion!
