Fort Albert Impression

I was just reading your essay on the Forum Robert. Quite a dramatic beast of a building and a fine scene.

Yes I've just read it too Robert. I really like this, especially the colours and movement in the water. It certainly looks a very solid structure, looks as if it has stood the test of time.

I like the tones you have achieved on the Fort and I recognised your impression of the scene as the famous military landmark as soon as I looked at it. The Fort stands out well against the backdrop of the sky and there are some lovely colours in the water.

You’ve captured the solidity of the fort pretty well here, and held back from over-working the details…as in visible windows but not too prominent! The inclusion of a depth marker/ or warning post was a good move!

Posted a WIP earlier in error, and hope I've got the right one this time, but it can be a hell of a job to see what I'm doing: maybe I need a 50" screen! See the Forum for a sort-of explanation for this one.
