River Ems in oil

River Ems in oil

Well it is certainly growing on the banks of the Ems, Robert, no doubt about that...Lush and crowded, foliage fighting for its space, lovely blues and greens...and yes, I think that is a discarded baby bio container just in on the left there!! I like it, nature at its best.

It's a very effective oiece, Robert, especially in light of the difficulty of keeping a painting with so much green from falling flat. You've done superbly to keep it vibrant and interesting.

I like it , it invites the viewer into the painting , reminds me of wonderful walks through the English countryside.

This is super Robert! Lovely gentle colours and sunlight - wish I were there.

I would happily dance along this path. I can smell the sun and the foliage.

Agree with William, This piece is very inviting and very very good...

The delicate balance of greens is executed with knowledge and skill. You have produced an excellent work in this Alan and created great depth. Great work.

Thanks all; Paul, who is this Alan of whom you so affectingly speak?

Here's one I prepared earlier .... oil on stretched canvas, 12" by 10". This was done in the summer of 2009; it divides opinion, I find.. Some like the crowded banks, someone said it looked as though I'd gone mad with the Baby Bio. I rather inclined to the latter view at first, but it's, er, growing on me.
