Amazing - I've just found it, under a different title, in this very portfolio .....There really is a good case for just leaving your paintings alone and not worrying at them..... Well, I offer it as a lesson against fiddling.

It might be your photograph is not doing it justice. I have to admit I prefer the other one .....

Gudrun, you're right - had to take a photo with the flash (too dark in here to do otherwise, too windy outside to avoid the thing flying over to France) and of course it's bleached it out. Never mind: live and learn.......

I like both versions. although the sea is a bit more lively in the first .I would have thought you shouldnt have any problems selling it though.

Sorry Robert, I think I prefer the first one, it seems more livelier especially the sea. A different atmosphere altogether.

I've had this picture for a long time - it didn't really work, and I don't think it works now, either, but I've zhooshed it up a bit (don't think I've shown it here before). The trouble with it is that it's a rather hackneyed view, done, I regret to say, in a rather hackneyed way - probably too small (14" by 10") for the scale I was attempting to convey. Or maybe I've just become too familiar with it .... anyway, Doubt is my middle name. See what you think.
