A lovely small painting, wonderfully painted.

love the foreground and rocks lovely composition full of interest Robert excellent

Love the clean fresh colours in this Robert, and all the foreground detail.

Love the seemless horizon Robert and the sunshine. The rock formation looks like an old chap with a beard...complete with eye lashes!

Great palette, crisp and clear. Really lovely.

Fiona's quite right - a face appears, and I think it's mine! This often happens, doesn't it ..... wasn't aware of it when I painted it, but saw it as soon as I posted it. I think one would TRY to avoid it, but - there we are: if it appears it could be because it was there, or because these structures just slip into a predetermined form.... I could change it, but - I don't think I will, I rather like it. After all, if it looks like me, it's just got to be good....... Of course, whereas i couldn't see it before, now I can't see anything else!

You must leave him Robert, it's as if he's a sentinel keeping watch over the sea.

A stunningly atmospheric piece, Robert. Love the composition and the palette.

A small - 8" by 10" - acrylic on canvas board: this time no imprimatura, painted directly onto the white ground in order to get a brighter view of a scene I've painted before in other media and in greyer weather.
