Nice pencil work Robert...I wish I had a best side....

Not my fault Robert! :-)

Ha ha Robert!!! This didn't half make me laugh. You have made my day. That expression!! I love it! You don't really look like that, surely?? You must be a happy bunny really.

A good impression of a bad expression. The cast is off by now, isn't it? If not, just use the other end of the brush to scratch inside.

You've got to admit though: I've a lovely head of hair, for my age....

Let's see a self caricature when the slings gone - so we can compare expressions and don't forget your best side this time!

I like this one, made me titter..........

ps Mean't to say, 'hope your'e feeling ok now Robert'.

I want to know how you tied your tie so well, you must have had some help?? Hope you're a little happier now...

I could do with some one helping me to draw like this .when i see a great drawing I feel like having a go . .oh Is that you robert with the broken arm,,i was asleep for a minute ..I did not read the wordings take care friend

Nice to see you can still draw, however"peeved" you might feel.

This is just great. You certainly look fed up with that arm.

Lesley Dabson, eyes of a hawk.... Yes, you're quite right: I wasn't really wearing a tie, but can't stand appearing in public without one; at last I can tie my ties, even my bow - cast now off, splint off, pain easing, strength increasing. I could crush a grape now..... And not much else. Many thanks to everyone for your comments, it did cheer me up a bit. It's being so cheerful as keeps me going, you know.

Obviously Not your Drawing Arm! Speedy Convelescence!!

Thanks so much for thinking out my shadow problem. I hope you're well on the mend and I look foreward to seeing some more of your super paintings. Springs nearly here so no doubt the "urge" (to paint!) will not be far! Regards,Avril.

Fantastic, definitely cheered me up when I saw this, needed a bit of cheering up, been a long couple of weeks, love the expression and hope you are feeling much better, and looking forward to seeing more of your paintings.

No!!!!.......it cannot be ! Isn't it funny how you envisage someone by their words without actually seeing them by face?....Seriously it's great to see someone actually looking at theirself in artistic sense. As the great line in Hancocks 'The Rebel' went by Irene Handl....."who's that?"...."It's a self portrait"........"who of?"..................get well quickly Robert and I'll look forward to a sunnier disposition soon!!

Only just found this Robert... its the jutting out lower lip ..In my earlier years I was told "you can build a row of houses on that" Its a great pic.

Robert i am replying to your comment on my latest portrait 'Andrea', I just love this one of yours! I am fortunate enough to have never broken any bones, touch wood, but this image of your furious with yourself for not being able to avoid the incident that caused this and occasionally wincing from pain just seems to me to epitomise how ironic life can be, even you could not avoid this mishap!! Anyway back to the point, thanks for what is from you a brilliant comment, hehehe!!! I was quite unsure about posting Andrea actually because of those very skintones that you mentioned, that was a very different take on pastel portraiture for me but the more I worked on it the more I knew it was coming together really well, really to me but there is the thing isn't it, how other people perceive what we consider to be good ourselves, I know I have caught her really well here, it is sometimes a shame we cannot post a photo of our original subject to emphasise how close we have got to them, anyway I had better stop here, hey I hope you get this Robert this drawing of yours being going on 3 years old!!!!!! Xx

Self-caricature following my fracture. NB - you might well recognize from this, but it is NOT my best side.....
