I think I did this one in oils a short while ago from Fiona's photograph. This is excellent Val, and for a pastel, quite brilliant.

Beautiful work Val, love that glowing lighthouse against the brooding sky. Also I like the softness of the horizon.

Oh Val this is excellent!! I recognised it straight away, this is roughly the view from the seat opposite Leigh's butty van! Your skill with pastel is outstanding, makes my attempt look pathetic.....which it is!lol

Lovely piece, Val! The composition and atmosphere are super.

Lovely craggy rocks Val! The lighthouse is cute too!

Thank you every one for taking the time to comment. Sorry about the blurry photo, not very good with a camera.<br /> Fiona, I must have missed Leigh&#39;s butty van, maybe it was too late in the year for him as it was last October but we did have some tasty pies to enjoy from the pie shop in Lochinver :)

Yes, October could have been a bit late because it&#39;s a permenant feature through the kinder months, I think she stores the van at home for the winter.....well you would, it wouldn&#39;t last long there would it in the winter!lol Now you&#39;re teasing...pies to die for!!

Powerful pastel, Val. The sea is so vivid and you have achieved such depth beyond the shoreline. I like the mossy greens of the hadline too.

Another version of Stoer Lighthouse, in pastel this time, from a photo taken from a slightly different viewpoint but on the same very blustery day. Thanks for looking.
