Majestic Val! Menacing sky and deep waters. Super!

Thank you very much Satu means a lot coming from someone as accomplished as you and especially as I haven't painted for over 6 months. I'm feeling very rusty!

Bags of atmosphere in this one Val. You say it's a remote area of Scotland and that remoteness certainly comes through. Very beautiful as well.

A couragous and challenging painting Val, I'm so happy you finished it. I recognise that 'Minch' sky, and it's the perfect backdrop for Stoer lighthouse. I was only looking at a photo of it the other day with a view to painting it. But I don't think I will, I couldn't match this! Stunning.

I've just painted the exact same a couple of days ago but in reverse, comparing the two I think I may have to re-do mine I was quite pleased with it but it looks rubbish now in comparison.

Thank you Louise I'm glad you like it as this has special meaning to me.

Thank you so much Fiona but I'm sure you could do better in your oils. It was difficult finishing it and I'm not entirely happy with it, but then I never am with any of my paintings lol. It's not the best of photos but my husband was the photographer in the family, I'll have to learn how to use his camera instead of my little "point and shoot" thing!

Thank you Kevin and such a nice thing to say but I'm sure yours is the far superior version!

Hi Val, just wanted to send you my fondest wishes for Christmas and the very best of health and happiness for the coming year.
Keep painting and don't forget you are still most welcome in Galloway, if at any time you find yourself in the area.
Fiona
x

Oil on Canvas of a lighthouse in a beautiful but remote part of north west Scotland

About the Artist
Val Kenyon
