Hello Val! We have posted together :-) A gorgeous poppy, I did get a few of these between the rain showers. Wonderfully executed with coloured pencil. Great as it is, but if you are feeling brave, green would be good too!

this is lovely Val. The white background doesnt bother me, i would fix a lovely mount and frame it.

Thanks Carole,Rebecca, Kirstie and Lorraine for looking and taking the time to leave such lovely comments.

Hi Val, wonderful poppy drawing! Nice to see you and Carole on the same page - I must pull my socks up and catch you two up lol !!!

Gorgeous poppy. It looks very dramatic, excellent drawing.

Beautiful detail Val, lovely depth into the centre of the flower.

Lovely dark center with super detail, and the petals are so well drawn.

Beautiful Val - such gorgeous colours and your technique with the coloured pencils gets better and better with every work. Super stuff.

Just excellent.

Thank you so much Debs, Pat, Fiona, Lesley, Thea, Pat and Michael, your comments mean a lot.

Absolutely stunning, Val! You've captured the fold of the petals beautifully.

Many thanks Seok and Sarah.

So...here is Poppy 2012 done in Caren d'Ache Luminance coloured pencils on Stonehenge paper. Can't decide if it could do with a bit of greenery about it but didn't want to risk spoiling it (I'm not very good with backgrounds LOL) and, for once, I was reasonably pleased with the result. Thanks for looking.
