Plein air on the Cliffs

lovely place. I wouldn't add anything so not to lose the wild flowers in the foreground. I like it very much.

I can see from the photo that you are having a great time painting outdoors. I like this painting and the colours used. The foreground foliage is really great too. I only had the experience of painting plein air twice but the result was not so great!! but I have to admit its better than using photos. Lorraine

I too think you should leave it. Part of the charm of a plein air painting is it's freshness and immediacy! If you want to do more with this image, make a studio version? For me, I like the idea of gathering all these impressions during the fair weather and then working with them in the winter to further explore (and relive) some of them.

Thank you all for your comments. I will leave it. And Diane what a good idea working with them in the winter. I shall certainly be doing that. Best regards to you all Jeannette

This is stunning. How do you manage to paint something in one go, wet in wet, without getting the colours all muddied like I do? I wouldn't add anything to it, it's just beautiful as it is.

Leave it as it is Jeannette, Its a lovely painting and you,ve captured the mood. Well done.

so now we know why you look so happy and content painting in the photo. well done

I can only agree with the previous comments, you have a lovely light touch, and I do love the foreground flowers.

Yes leave it as it is,its wonderfull.

This was painted rather quickly on Minster Cliffs this afternoon. Passers by were very kind and admired my painting. I don't know whether to give some finishing touches of just leave it? Oil on canvas board.
