Okay Denise, I was expecting you to say a more reddish brown mixture but this has certainly worked well! The final result appears to be a lovely warm dark brown…

I mixed a Raw Umber with Ultra Marine and I did want a warm dark colour so Ochre was added. The little bit of light behind the onions is actually a green made with a mix of Ochre and Ultra Marine with a dot of Titanim and blended in.

These are a couple of red onions I had and decided to paint them. Oil painting taking 6 hours to do. I used, Magenta, Crimson, Raw Umber, Ultra Marine, Ochre and Titanium White for the painting.
