I very rarely do competitions, and don't like them: but I do like your painting. If there were a composition for most improved artist in a year, you'd be a dead cert.

Very good Denise. Great leaves and splatter. I have entered 2 competitions by a local Art Supplier. No prizes but got a boost seeing my efforts in a gallery. It's not winning but taking part, as they say !

Don’t remember the original, Denise, but this is lovely, really like the blue/orange combination with the addition of the blue splatters.

It's lovely. I like it when you feel completely free, as in, "This didn't work so I'll just do anything I like." Often leads somewhere good.

This was a watercolour I did last year and entered in a competition, it didn't come anywhere. Today I pulled it out and thought I would try some mixed media, so I added some birds, some splatters, a tiny bit of gold leaf. I used pastel, ink and watercolour, oh yes and a bit of charcoal. I think it looks better, I might even add more stuff to it. Coming nowhere, did it put me off competitions, no, I like entering the odd one or two, it's fun.
