What a superb study Denise and it’s so well drawn .

This is wonderful Denise. What an elegant lady and such great tonal values.

I never have got to grips with rice paper - but trust you to try everything! Chinese ink, though, is lovely stuff - and it's huge fun to work with the block and ink stick. As you say, water control is crucial, as is a very light, quick touch - I KNOW that: but that's not by a long chalk the same as being able to do it. This is a very fine study, reminiscent of the younger Aung San Su Kyi (spelling must be wrong, I'm too lazy to look it up).

Very good Denise

You've got to grips with it very well!

Thanks, much appreciated Paul, Carole, Robert, John and Heather. I agree Robert, she does look like a young Aung San Su.

Beautifully done Denise.

Super tonal study Denise.

This is so striking, Denise !

Tonal study using Chinese ink, Chinese brush on rice paper. I still find it difficult working on rice paper. Too much water and disintegration appears before your eyes so you have to work quickly and control the water. I'm still getting to grips with it.
