I assume this was done from life? Exceptional!

Yes Peter, I persuaded him to sit for 20 mins then he was off! I added a bit more ( I do know him rather well). I’m enjoying using charcoal at the moment, thanks for your kind comment.

Love your limited palette Marjorie. It really brings out his gentle expression so well.

Sensitively drawn Marjorie, I like it.

You’ve captured a weary expression there Marjorie.

Very good Marjorie.

20 minutes? Mine definitely would have fallen asleep or been off elsewhere! Seriously, this is lovely and sensitively done.

Great drawing Marjorie, do I detect a look of resignation? "Oh ok I'll sit if you insist!"

Beautifully done Marjorie.

Absolutely brilliant...mine does the same!! I find i'm using charcoal more and more

Lots of love in this Marjorie, assume your husband. Very good charcoal drawing

Thank you everyone - yes he was a bit resigned, also tired and, unusually, not smiling. Pity it’s not feasible for a painting which would take rather longer.

There’s a tenderness in this which is very appealing

Superb portrait Marjorie, its full of feeling , you have certainly captured the I’m worn out look when someone is so tired.

Very tenderly drawn

Lovely work Marjorie.

Beautifully done!

The moment well captured . On the poor kid.

Delightful portrait, Marjorie! I like the mid tone paper too.

Fantastic Marjorie, beautifully drawn

Incredible drawing in such a short time. The details are fantastic, the subtle lines on the forehead, the ear, the shadow and the way the collar and chest emerge from the page. Fantastic Marjorie.

Thank you again for all your lovely comments Martin, Paul, Sarah, George, Anne, John, Linda, Cheryl and Rowena!
