Rowena Simpson

Biography

At school my Art teacher told me that I used too much colour in my work. Happily I’m not at school now and can use as much colour as I like! Later as a mature student I did a foundation and half a degree in Art, until family and finances cut that short, but both wonderful opportunities to study enriched my practice. Around that time I had 2 paintings in York Open at the York City Art Gallery and a solo exhibition at Waterstones in York. Roll forward a good many years and I find myself with the time and inclination to paint again, inspired by my move to the Northumberland coast and the support and encouragement of Howick Art Group. I hope you enjoy looking at my work and welcome your feedback.
