How lovely- looks like she’s not going to sit still too long!

Beautiful, Marjorie. You have the soft peachy child skin-tones, the hair is wonderful. Lovely work.

Wonderful...but she doesn't look a very happy bunny! You've caught her beautifully, Marjorie. Love the skin tones

This is looking beautiful, love the tones. Can't wait to see the end result.

Like it... can see her having her hair cut and dad sitting in the cape. Maybe there’s a market for kitten capes or bunny rabbits.... This will be so appreciated when she is all grown up Marjorie .

Excellent decision to stop now, I think, because (while of course I've not met your granddaughter) you've caught a character in this and really don't need to labour over it. One of the best child portraits I've ever seen.

Great work Marjorie. Interesting background.

Reposting a thankyou for all the comments, maybe the internet went off! Now I have to get the courage to go to canvas.

Oh What s beautiful way to remember this event. I love the highlights on her hair and the background colours

Love the soft tones and wispy hair, and all set of with that dark background, wonderful portrait Marjorie.

Nice moody expression and wonderful skin tones, a gem.

Well this is a wonderful and emotional portrait Marjorie, everything is so right.

I should have added that this is a serious contender for Patching's - It has everything going for it!.

What a delightful painting Marjorie! Great hair and background too.

Beautiful Marjorie, the hair and skin tones are so good.

Thankyou all so much!

Just looked at the programme of exhibitors for Kelso Marjorie, there isn’t very much in the way of portraiture. One or two artists who’s work I quite like but all landscapes really. Didn’t know it was on, Kelso is about three hours from me, mind you I don’t suppose the weather is too good between here and there. Lol

Oil on gesso covered MDF. Finished. It is only a prelim, I want to do another on canvas. She refused to wear a cape - dad had to wear it!
