The Long Walk, Howick, Northumberland

That is so impressive Marjorie, really well painted, love it.

Stunning Marjorie. As always the light in your paintings is magical, did you use a dark ground to start from? Wish I had known about Howick gardens, I was there last year...perhaps a visit for this year.

I do like this place - in fact I was only thinking of it yesterday and you have created the light so well. It is so unspoilt there.

Really beautiful Marjorie, and painted so well.

Thankyou for the comments. Yes, Rachel, it's not commercialised at all, even the tea rooms are " stately". The snowdrop walk is the feature at the moment, must go this weekend. Fiona, I used a black canvas for this. You must visit when you are next in the area.

Lovely, Marjorie, very atmospheric, love the strong tonal contrast with that dark foreground.

Expertly painted Marjorie, lush!

Really 3-dimensional. Like it!

Well I’ve said on the forum what I think about this, it’s damn good Marjorie, I hope you’re going to submit it for the competition.

Just stunning Marjorie.

Beautifully painted Marjorie.

Lovely to get all the positive feedback, thank you all very much.

I’ve taken a long look at the long walk Marjorie and it is super. Congratulations. Love the dark foreground and vegetation catching the sunlight. Beautiful colours .

Great light and I love the colours and splash of purple too

A beautiful painting. Love the dramatic contrasts between the darks and the sparkling lights on the foliage and the flowers.

Thankyou Michael, Heather and Elaine.

This is beautiful Margaret.

Really lovely work, Marjorie - great light
