Watching the sea.

Comments

Just reposted because the colour wasn’t true in the previous one. Thanks David, I’m afraid I lost your comment.

Lovely atmosphere here Marjorie, the light is exquisite!

It’s beautifully painted Marjorie. I agree with Alan the light is so good, I was going to say brilliant but thought that might be miss read, what ever work is really good.

It really is just perfect Marjorie, a wonderful painting.

Lucky you. Looks wonderful, oh and the painting is rather good also!

Love your palette with all its subtleties and the light catching the marram grasses. What a perfect composition and I especially love the glimmering sea Marjorie.

Alan, Paul, Denise and Tessa - thank you so much, this site has so many lovely people who make comments, it’s a great way to show what you’re doing at the moment and to have others notice that is a bonus. Tessa, thank you very much for your lovely comment about my TALP entry. But where are your paintings? Are you taking a step back at the moment?

Thanks Carole, the secret is to get down there fairly early before the hordes arrive😉, times are changing.

A great composition and beautiful light, and love the grasses at the bottom. I meant the bottom of the painting!

A wonderful painting Marjorie - the gorgeous light on the grasses particularly! ( I think that could be Coquet Island in the distance?)

Thanks Fred😂, and thanks Anne, you could be right!😁

A beautifully atmospheric painting Marjorie, and the light is just delicious.

We do love the light! Thanks, Russell.

Love this. Beautifully done.

Hello Lewis, thanks. Lovely that you’re back.

Thanks Marjorie. I haven’t painted recently, decided to maybe paint less but bigger. Our class resumes this month so that may kickstart me. Otherwise now looking after my one year old grandson one day a week but travelling to London and back takes a lot of time and effort. Hopefully back soon! X

Lovely work, Marjorie. The foreground grasses look very alive, and your contentment shows through in your stance which along with the whole scene, has been captured beautifully.

This is lovely Marjorie, so serene.

Thank you very much Anne and Denise. Yes, I felt very happy and content there - I always do. The sea is always so fascinating but I don’t underestimate its power!

Lovely composition, beautiful sky and glowing light

This is really lovely Marjorie and as so many people have it is that wonderful light that makes it so good.

Lovely light, Marjorie.

It just makes you want to sit right down in that spot and take in the atmosphere of what you have captured, Marjorie. A fantastic painting

Superb painting! Love it

Absolutely stunning, Marjorie!

Lovely composition and as others have said- beautiful light.

Again, many thanks for all your comments, Romila, Linda, Anne, Ron, Thalia and Christine.

Lovely painting Marjorie, I’m particularly taken with the grass and your hair! The scene and light are excellent too.

Lovely, Marjorie, I especially like the light on the foreground grasses.

Great texture and colour a suburb painting

Wonderful, Marjorie! Another brilliant painting. Love the loose brushwork for the grasses.

I'm behind you, Marjorie! That's how this feels because you've got the Northumbrian coast to a 'T' in this fabulous painting. Love the light and those grasses are so alive.

Very clever Marjorie to give us your view, as if looking through your eyes. Feeling the breeze in your hair and squinting at the glare off the water. Super painting!

A wonderful painting Marjorie.

A fabulous painting, the sense of space and light is amazing. What a perfect place

Beautiful, Marjorie. I wish I was there with you, it looks perfect.

Thank you all, very much, for looking and commenting.

Really evocative! The lady wants to be alone and you can read her thoughts.

A touch of the Greta Garbo, Peter 😉

Lovely painting, Marjorie

Beautiful painting, beautiful place. I especially like the foreground grasses and your hair!

Thank you Maureen and Diane - that’s the second time my hair and grass have been commented on😆

It does look perfect Marjorie, a very evocative painting.

Thank you Carole and Gudrun. Hope the good weather comes back soon - showery today.
