What a beauty this is Marjorie, wonderful colour harmony throughout.

Love it. We’re based in Stamford Lea so know the view well.

One of my favourite haunts Marjorie. You have captured its wild, natural beauty spot on.

I'm repeating a reply here - don't know where it went....thanks Alan, struggled a bit with the foreground, nothing comes easy! Thanks Terence, just looked at your lovely gallery. Who is your tutor? Carole, Dunstanburgh looks almost like Tuscany at the mo ( the fields) - almost.

A lovely painting to look at Marjorie. That's what it's about for me. Nice work.

Lovely painting Marjorie

Really beautiful painting, Marjorie, with the foreground looking good to me. I did like the abstract nature of the other versions but this is better, methinks. You've got me wondering about water based oils. Are the dark colours, like Prussian Blue, just as good? How rich are the cad's? Lovely pastoral scene. Bri

How lovely this looks Marjorie, a super painting with wonderful colours and a beautiful sky.

Nice one Marjorie, love the energy of the foreground grasses.

Lovely painting Marjorie - like the grasses in the foreground.

I've been watching this on the WIP forum. Smashing result. Love it all.

That's gorgeous, lovely colours and like the way the grass is blowing in the breeze 😀

Thanks for all the comments everyone. I tend to use water based oils en plein air, much easier. I have , I suppose, a basic set, based on advice from Max Hale in an LP article. The colours I have are ult blue, cobalt, cerulean, cobalt violet hue, yellow ochre,, lemon yellow, perm orange, indian yellow, raw umber, burnt sienna, madder lake, pyrrole red, sap green, buff titanium and a large titanium white. Brand is Cobra.

Marjorie, Marjorie......what an absolute perfect picture of summer. Haven’t the costal grasses and Machairs been wonderful this year.

Thankyou Fiona - we've had an amazing summer! And I hope the great weather hasn't come to an end yet!

You've given the 'Old Girl' a fresh look, Marjorie, Love this aspect and your painting.

Beautiful scene, with a windswept look Marjorie.

Thanks Carole - it would be a different scene today, grey and rainy!

Water based oils, started en plein air, finished off at home.
