Amazing light and shadows and then there’s such a stunning reflection. Well done.

Many thanks, Christine - I'll confess, it was a bit of a nightmare to do.

Beautiful work Marjorie!

Very brave of you to paint something so difficult Marjorie. Wonderful painting.

Thanks Carole - I set myself a challenge.....I painted it on top of another painting without blocking out the previous one, in some ways it helped, at first, then the middle part ...what a mess! I was determined not to give up...I'm reasonably happy with it.

"Reasonably happy"!! I'm still trying to figure out how you did it, Marjorie. Wonderful idea, beautifully executed. Your grandson steals the show, but the light and shadows have their moments, as does the super supporting background. Bri

Wow the work that's has gone into this is amazing, that reflection is superb. Well done.

This is fantastic Marjorie, and I’ve actually been wondering if you were still painting it! Superb reflections and light and he looks as though he is willing the cactus to grow. Not sure when you started this but it has a feel of the current lockdown to it. Excellent and unusual subject.

Jenny M and Jenny E, thank you for those lovely comments. And Brian and Tessa too - interesting, Tessa, that you mention the lockdown....I wanted to capture a certain feeling of stillness, a little bit of strangeness. Thanks again, for the comments.

Stunning - reflections are great and I like the storytelling

Splendid, clever work Marjorie.

Great work and great composition

Great idea and brilliantly painted Marjorie, the light and reflections are so skilfully captured, superb piece.

Thank you Heather, Michael, Romila, Russell, Mark and Gudrun. I certainly appreciate you all looking and commenting.

Beautiful sense of the light coming in Marjorie. He might like my collection then?

John, thanks, he's got quite a few little ones, his uncle bought him this whopper, it's become one of the family!

Oil on canvas. " Will Spike grow as tall as me?" My grandson, very proud of his cactus.
