Thanks Alan. It's hard to describe but painting this way (as compared to my normal style) has been like a 'release' and given me a sense of freedom. If I had to sum it up in one word I think it would be 'exciting'. I'm keen to see how this develops and where I can take it to.

A wonderfully ornate cafe front in the heart of Ostend. Just loved this when I saw it during a visit a few years back, thinking it would make a good painting. Worked from my photograph and I am rather chuffed with the result. Must say I am completely captivated with this new (to me) style.
