Wow,what brilliant detail.

Super. Such a small detail but I like the two figures especially the one with a crossed over leg.

Thanks everyone for you comments. In answer to Frank Bingley's question about the straight lines, yes there are plenty in this picture and not just the track. The canopy, the footbridge, brickwork and it just goes on. I find that once I have sorted the basic perspective lines, in this case the sides of the carriages, the chassis, canopy and then some of the track, the rest is built up around these. It's then a case of letting my need for detail run wild and lots of patience to try and get everything right. There are times when working through these larger paintings when I do ask why I do this to myself, but as I near the end I realise why.

Heritage railway that runs between Llangollen and Corwen in North Wales. This is their beautifully restored DMU (Diesel Multiple Unit) at Llangollen station awaiting its next trip. SOLD at the 2023 Guild of Railway Artists Railart Exhibition.
