Sketch book - pinhead - horseman.

Looks like the old memory is holding up very well as the horse is very well done, love the action. (Mind you if that sketch book has been lost for the last twenty years who knows what state the memory is in now? )

Thanks Tony. It was lost for about a year. But I'm keeping a low profile on that. My wife says my computer desk is my concern, and has the quaint idea I should dust behind it occasionally. Dust behind a desk...has the world gone mad!!! I found the sketchbook when fitting a new gizmo to my computer.

That horse is impressive from memory. Have you ever tried a bicycle? That's tricky.

I will never again complain about my nose! haha You have an excellent memory. I find it hard to draw without reference.

You're right about bikes, Marjorie. I've had several, and we all know what bikes look like, don't we? But it's like a lot of things I think I know...when you try to draw them you find you do need reference.

Excellent horse, has a real sense of movement. Also reminds me I need to take a reference photo of the youth on horseback statue near the Ritz.

That gentleman looks like a stern Victorian schoolmaster, probably holding a cane. I don’t know how you draw without a reference photograph. I can see things in my mind but what appears on the paper bears no resemblance to it. I wish I had the ability to do that. Enjoying looking at whatever you post.

Excellent and what a nose he has!!

Just great sketches both Lewis. First one is a definite villainous Sir Jasper...(-:

Love the way the "baddy" is looking at the viewer, Lewis. Super character. I find the memory fades after a few months. I could draw Marilyn from memory for an age after I drew her several times then the ability wasted away. Your horse positively neighs. *smile* Brian

These are really good drawing skills that you have Lewis, most of the time I have to have a reference photo.

Thanks for sharing this sketchbook. It is very good and entertaining.

ps we lost our paper licences for about two years ....

Super action sketch of the horse. Love them both

Your memory is holding up better than mine Lewis!

Two excellent sketches Lewis.

There is nothing you cannot tackle Lewis, that horse is good from what i can see of it.

These are from my A5 sketchbook that went AWOL down the back of my computer desk. On the left I was trying to draw a man with a big bulky face, but with a pin head (Why?? Who knows). On the right...I sometimes like to practice sketching things I don't often draw (like horses) without using references, just to see how the old memory is holding up.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
