A good piece on the forum Lew, and nicely followed up with this humorous sketch.

He certainly must have had the gift of the arty gab and that urinal 'fountain' probably changed the 'art world' forever! Good drawing Lewis and so interesting to see the quotes of his. His jokey pants, shoes and hat here suit him :)

Great colourful sketch, and love the quotes.

Thanks for the feedback Sandra, Alan, Louise and Tony. I tried to make the character look like Duchamp, but as I wanted to give him an impossible grin, the likeness fell by the wayside.

I like his quotes Lewis, so funny, and your sketch of him is so endearing. As always excellent work.

Takes all sorts Lew, love it!

More arty than the subject Lew. Great work as always....

Prompted by a TV art prog I saw the other night. Duchamp is famous for his 'ready-made art'. His first and most famous was a urinal (the kind found in gent's toilets all over France). It was art because he said it was art. (?????) But, having read about him, I think he was a JOKER, it was all a big laugh to him. But once he'd got started, he couldn't stop. (Just an opinion of course). I'd added a few of his quotes.

Self taught. Love drawing. Like to make pictures up, without using reference pics, often in cartoon style. I do other pictures where I do use reference. I'm knocking on a bit, born in 1940 in Greenwich, London. Retired, and loving it.
